Schema markup can boost your SEO, give more data to search engines, and make better use of other tools like Google's social media platforms and knowledge boards.
In this post, we will show how to add Schema markup to our Joomla site without using any plugins.
Since Search Engines support JSON-LD (a type of script to insert into a website), it's easier than ever to add schema markup to your website.
To add schema markup, you need the help of two websites:
- Create schema markup: https://technicalseo.com/tools/schema-markup-generator/
- Check schema markup: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results
First, visit the website to create the schema. Then choose the type of schema you want to add and follow the steps as instructed.
After filling in the information, click the Copy button to copy the JSON-LD code.
Next, go to the administration of your Joomla website > System > Global Configuration > Site > Default Editor: None. - This step is to enable saving of script tags.
Next, go to Extensions > Modules > New > Custom:
Insert JSON-LD code to textarea field. Set Show Title is Hide, set Position and Module Assignment for module. Then save it:
Go to the page where you placed this module, ViewSource and copy it.
Paste this source to This Site. Then see result:
Goodluck!
