Hey, HTML5 is supported in YTF. You can learn more in JED (We tested it in almost platform,  include iOS. About cache thumbs of image, according to me, it isn't necessary (Because YT using cache already ;) ).
YTF use Ajax technology, so we can't apply cache feature in this module.
